Dragomanov Ukrainian State University (DUSU) - project coordinator
founded in 1834, is one of the classical universities of Ukraine, holding the highest (fourth) level of accreditation and recognized as one of the leading higher education institutions in the country. Today, the University comprises 13 faculties and serves nearly 9,000 students, supported by approximately 1200 academic staff members. Its academic community includes 16 academicians and corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 79 Doctors of Sciences (full professors), and over 400 PhD holders (associate professors). Dragomanov Ukrainian State University offers a wide range of educational programmes spanning Educational Sciences and Pedagogy, Psychology, Humanities and Social Sciences, Foreign Languages, Economics and Management, Business and Public Administration, Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Informatics, History, Design and Choreography, as well as Sports and Physical Education, and Music Arts. The University delivers Bachelor’s and Master’s educational programmes through full-time, part-time (evening), extramural, and distance learning formats. It also provides advanced doctoral education, including PhD programmes. The awarding of academic degrees is supported by 21 specialized academic councils for thesis defense. DUSU maintains active international cooperation with around 100 universities across Europe and is a member of the European University Association and the International Association of Universities. One of the University’s strategic priorities is full integration into the European Higher Education Area, aligning its institutional development, educational programmes, and research activities with European standards, and actively participating in EU-funded education and research initiatives. The University acts as both a coordinator and a partner in Erasmus+, Interreg EU, EU4Youth, and other international programmes.
Bratislava University of Economics and Business (EUBA)
is the oldest and largest university in Slovakia specializing in economics, management, and international relations, with a tradition dating back to 1940. Today it offers modern education at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels across seven faculties and holds the prestigious AACSB international accreditation, awarded to fewer than 6% of business schools worldwide. EUBA maintains more than 300 partnerships with universities in over 60 countries and actively participates in international mobility and research programmes such as Erasmus+ and CEEPUS. Its Faculty of International Relations provides interdisciplinary education combining international economics, diplomacy, and international law, with strong emphasis on foreign languages and practical experience through cooperation with embassies, EU institutions, and international organizations. Within this project, EUBA contributes its expertise in the analysis of European integration processes, economic and institutional reforms, and the experience of Slovakia’s successful EU accession and adaptation to the EU Single Market and Eurozone.
Kryvyi Rih National University
is the scientific heart of the Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Basin, one of the largest mining regions in Europe. Over its century-long history, the university has accumulated extensive experience in collaboration with large mining companies, and the majority of its graduates occupy leading positions in the industry. Priority research areas include the development of resource-efficient technologies, waste management, and the implementation of sustainable development principles. The university also has rich and successful experience participating in Erasmus+ projects, which has strengthened its international cooperation and educational quality. Its scientific publications and annual conferences on sustainable development have a significant positive impact on the engineering community, promoting the Green Deal principles and digital transformation in the mining industry while fostering a new generation of industry change agents.
Berdyansk State Pedagogical University
is a Ukrainian institution of higher education that specializes in training educators, journalists, historians, philologists, musicians, choreographers, athletes, psychologists, and lawyers. The university was relocated to Zaporizhzhia, and now we are the «University without walls». More than 4000 students study at the university, including 2 744 bachelor's degree, 1 898 master's degree, and 34 postgraduate students. The University actively develops its educational, research, and international activities, preserving its academic community and educational traditions even under the conditions of wartime.
Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University
is a vibrant metropolitan university at the heart of Ukraine’s capital and a key academic force serving the city of Kyiv and its community. Rooted in strong traditions of academic excellence and civic responsibility, the University brings together more than 9,000 students across 13 faculties, offering a diverse portfolio of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes. Nizhyn Mykola Gogol State University (NSU)
was founded in 1805 and is one of Ukraine's oldest continuously operating universities. Nizhyn Mykola Gogol State University is a small regional higher education institution (more than 2000 students and academic staff) committed to research and cooperation that contributes to the economic and social vitality of the region, working with business, government and non-governmental partners. Structure The university offers over 50 bachelor's, master's and PhD programmes. Following the recent restructuring, the university now consists of three faculties: Faculty of Pedagogy, Psychology, Social Work and Arts (study programmes in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Education, Preschool Education, Primary Education, Social Work, Musical Art, Choreography, Management) Faculty of Philology, History and Political and Legal Sciences (study programmes in Germanic and Slavic Philology, Foreign Language Teaching, Translation, Literature, Culture Studies, History, Archaeology, International Relations, Political Science, Legal Studies, Journalism) Natural, mathematical, medical and biological sciences and information technologies Faculty (study programmes in Biology, Pharmacy, Applied Physics and Nanomaterials, Educational Measurements, Mathematics, Computer Studies, Computer Engineering, IT, Tourism, Geography, Chemistry) Teaching & Research We use various teaching methods (from face-to-face to flipped learning) to support efficient student-centred learning. Lectures, seminars, workshops and review sessions provide the framework for students to gain all the necessary skills to explore their subject through independent meaningful study. The University has much experience in both pre- and in-service teacher training and methodology, being one of the national leaders in the field. Nizhyn State University is committed to research and cooperation that contributes to the economic and social vitality of the region and works collaboratively with business, government and non-government partners. Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (UMCS)
founded in 1944, is the largest public university in eastern Poland with more than 80 years of academic tradition. The University currently educates around 17,000 students, including approximately 1,800 international students from about 60 countries. UMCS offers a wide range of study opportunities with around 100 fields of study and over 300 specializations, designed to meet the needs of the modern labour market. Doctoral education is provided through three Doctoral Schools: the Doctoral School of Humanities, the Doctoral School of Social Sciences, and the Doctoral School of Quantitative and Natural Sciences. The University also offers numerous postgraduate programmes developed in cooperation with business and social partners. Research at UMCS is conducted across 23 institutes and supported by modern laboratories and continuously developing research infrastructure. The University actively cooperates with research institutions, universities, industry, and public administration in Poland and abroad. UMCS is an active participant in international cooperation and mobility programmes, including Erasmus+, and is a member of the Athena European Universities Alliance. In 2017 the European Commission awarded the University the HR Excellence in Research Award, recognizing its commitment to high standards in research management and working conditions for researchers.
Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
is a leading research institution in the field of political science in Ukraine. The Institute was founded in 1991. The Institute consists of five research departments: the Department of Theory and History of Political Science; the Department of Political Institutions and Processes; the Department of Political Culture and Ideology; the Department of International Political Development; and the Department of Ethnopolitics. In addition, the Centre for Jewish History and Culture operates within the Institute. The Institute hosts a Specialized Academic Council (D 26.181.01) authorized to conduct doctoral thesis defenses for the Doctor of Sciences degree in the following fields: Theory and History of Political Science; Political Institutions and Processes; Ethnopolitics and Ethno-State Studies. The Institute also maintains a scientific library with a collection of approximately 110,000 volumes. The Institute publishes the academic journal “Political Studies” and is a co-founder of the scholarly publications “Ukrainian Historical Journal”, the collection of academic papers “Hileya”, and other scientific editions. The Institute maintains long-standing cooperation with government institutions and civil society organizations, cooperates with representatives of various political parties, movements, and religious communities, and actively participates in public discussions on the optimal paths of Ukraine’s socio-political development.
Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University (CNU)
is a classic, international standard oriented University, accredited to the highest (4th) level. Founded in 1940, it has become the largest and most influential higher education institution in the region.
CNU has 12 faculties, 3 institutes, 1 college, 23 educational and scientific centers, including the International Scientific Centre "Observatory", the Scientific Park "Carpathian University", a botanical garden, the arboretum "Druzhba", a scientific library, 2 interdepartmental laboratories, 10 scientific laboratories and a center for the collective use of scientific equipment. There are approximately 18000 students of all specialties and levels of education (including college), 720 postgraduate students. The academic staff includes 935 scientists and pedagogical staff, including 174 Doctors of Science, Professors
The University actively participates in international research collaborations and has implemented over 40 international projects.
CNU has partnerships with more than 80 universities and organisations worldwide, including institutions in the EU, USA and Asia. The University is a member of several international consortia such as the European University Association, the Consortium of Warsaw and Ukrainian Universities, the International Consortium of Universities, the Consortium of Universities of the Baltic Sea Region and Ukraine, the Magna Charta Universitatum, the European Digital UniverCity (EDUC) and the International Consortium of Space Universities UNIVERSEH.
As a modern center of education and research, CNU has a significant impact on the development of human capital in the region. Its mission includes:

Baltic International Academy
is a higher education institution of applied sciences founded in 1992 and located in Riga, Latvia. It offers academic and professional bachelor’s and master’s programmes for Latvian and international students in study fields such as Management, Administration and Real Estate Management; Economics; Hotel and Restaurant Service, Tourism and Recreation Organization; Arts. The Baltic International Academy is a scientific institution specializing in the social and human sciences. The proportion of academic staff with doctoral degree is more than 60%. Main research directions of the BIA are Management and Entrepreneurship Economics; Sustainable Digital Transformation of Economy and Finance; Design and Digital Visualization; Cognitive Mechanisms of Implicit Attitude Formation and Change in Social Psychology and its Application Areas; Interpersonal and Intergroup Communication in the Social Sphere; Protection of Human Rights in the European Union; Regional Potential of Tourism and Recreation Areas. Research carried out within the Social and Neurocognitive Implicit Processes Laboratory of the Baltic International Academy is a scientific base for conducting fundamental research of cognitive mechanisms of implicit attitudes, as well as modern applied research aimed at studying implicit attitudes in psychology and related fields. The BIA publishes periodical scientific journal “Baltic Journal of Legal and Social Sciences”, which has been indexed in the Erih+ database since 2023. The BIA combines diverse study, research and innovation activities in order to provide the Latvian society with the internationally recognized higher education, to develop science and to strengthen the intercultural traditions. The mission of the BIA is to ensure the preparation of highly qualified and competitive specialists focused on continuous self-improvement, long-term sustainable development of society, national economy of Latvia and other countries, providing high-quality, internationally recognized higher education and educational services based on integration with the economic and educational communities, science and research in Latvia and abroad.
